As we are drawing close to the final few weeks of the project, this week we decided that it would be best for us to split off into sub groups to ensure that everything gets finished in time. As this week is a short week due to the long bank holiday weekend we were really beginning to feel the pressure.

Visiting the Walworth Living Room

To start the week off, Parth, Effy and I met at the Walworth Living Room since we were not in the meeting last week with Richard and wanted to see the space our final event would be in.

During our visit, Parth sketched a floor plan, while Effy and I took detailed photos of the space so we can plan the layout and what may need removing. Effy also used a program to scan the space and build a 3D model. This allowed us to also get a real idea of the space we were going to work with and plan how our final event may look.

Allocating tasks

Once we were back at uni we decided to split off into groups depending on what we were interested in / what our greatest skills were. For example Parth and Jacob are really good at creating 3d models and building physical prototypes so they decided to work on building the final pub cart. Meanwhile I was really interested in our idea of creating a pub sign through co design and decided to work on that with Effy. I also began to work on the branding this week. The rest of the group were working on the pub games and bottle workshops. We decided this would be the best working style for the final few weeks to ensure we finish everything on time.

Branding

I started off the week by working on the logo for our portable pub. When designing the logo I wanted to create something that incorporated the area of Walworth and the idea of community. I therefore had the idea of creating a W in a 'mosaic' like style to represent the way a community pub is made through all the individual people coming together, like a mosaic.

While creating this logo I also wanted to make a design that combined the ideas of the logo with the ideas of a pub. Therefore I experimented with creating a pub shield with the same ideas of mosaics and the Walworth area that we could use for social media posts.

Finally during the week Effy and I had a phone call to discuss the potential ways we could encourage people to go design a pub sign. We wanted to use a similar format to when we tested the coasters early on in the project as that was very successful but in a more thought out way.

Reflection

Overall due to the bank holiday this was a relatively short and relaxed week compared to others. I really enjoyed working on the branding this week and doing something a little more digital as it has been a while since I have done that. With everyone working on different areas of the project now it is starting to feel much more achievable and that we are growing close to be successfully finishing the project.
